Co-founder &
VP of UX
@ Thuuz Sports

Thuuz was a sports-tech startup I founded with two partners. We developed the concept of an “excitement score” to let you know which games to watch.

As the VP of UX, I collaborated with the team to develop the excitement visualizations, apps, and partner integrations, while simplifying every element of the experience.

By developing a unique way of using complex sports data, we built valuable tools that we eventually sold to Stats Perform.

We developed the concept of an excitement rating that would tell fans whether a game was worth watching or not - in real time, after the game ended, and even as a prediction ahead of time.

As the Product Design arm of our team, I led the effort to take the complicated world of sports statistics and hone it down to the simple user experience dictated by our founding premise.

I developed apps for web, tablet, iOS, Android, Google Glass, and many partner integrations including TiVo, Comcast, and Sling.

The Thuuz app running on Google Glass

Some of the biggest UX challenges at Thuuz were the limited input options available for TV and Google Glass interfaces. We had to design to the minimum input standard of a 5-way keypad + numbers. I solved this difficulty by ruthlessly reducing the feature set and incorporating clear affordances in the display.

I developed over a dozen integrations of our excitement ratings and listings, and Thuuz was eventually sold to Stats Perform who have incorporated our technology, our visual design, and our UX into their product line.
